Origin PC's 5000D AMD Advantage is an impressive high-end gaming PC featuring top-of-the-line AMD hardware and a custom Corsair 5000D case. This powerful machine is designed for gamers seeking the best performance from Team Red's offerings, competing with high-end PCs in the market. In this comprehensive review, we delve into the key aspects of the Origin PC 5000D AMD Advantage – from its specifications and build quality to its gaming performance, thermal management, and noise levels.

A Powerhouse of Performance: Specs and Build Quality

A Powerhouse of Performance Specs and Build Quality

The Origin PC 5000D AMD Advantage is equipped with a remarkable set of specifications that promise top-notch performance. The prebuilt PC we reviewed contained the following components:

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7950X 16-Core.
  • Motherboard: Asus ROG Crosshair X670E Hero.
  • Memory: 32GB Corsair Vengence DDR5 (2X16GB) 6,000MHz.
  • GPU: Sapphire AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX.
  • 2TB Samsung SSD.
  • PSU: Corsair RM1000x Series Plus Gold.
  • Case: Custom Corsair 5000D Airflow.

Origin PC has meticulously crafted this powerhouse using premium, non-OEM components. The result is a reliable, high-quality gaming system featuring a robust Corsair 5000D case, a powerful Corsair RM1000x power supply, and an Asus ROG Crosshair X670E Hero motherboard with ample room for expansion and upgrades.

The build quality is exceptional, with excellent cable management, ensuring optimal airflow throughout the case. No adhesives were used, making it easy for users to access and modify cables as needed. Additionally, Origin PC includes extra PCIe and SATA cables for upgrading the GPU or adding SSDs in the future.

Gaming Performance: Unleashing AMD's Full Potential

To evaluate the gaming performance of the Origin PC 5000D AMD Advantage, we conducted a series of tests using 3DMark's Time Spy Extreme benchmark and various demanding games, such as Control, Hogwarts Legacy, The Witcher 3, Red Dead Redemption 2, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, and Cyberpunk 2077. The focus was on raw rasterization performance and maximum settings without considering ray tracing or AMD FSR.

The 5000D AMD Advantage scores slightly lower than PCs with similar hardware configurations in synthetic benchmarks. However, this did not hinder the overall gaming performance, as it still placed the PC in the 98th percentile. At 1440p, the Origin AMD Advantage easily exceeded 120 frames per second (fps) in most games, with the exceptions being Hogwarts Legacy and The Witcher 3. Nonetheless, both titles managed to surpass the 100 fps mark in less-demanding areas.

When it came to 4K gaming, the Radeon RX 7900 XTX showcased its capabilities, with all tested games achieving over 60 fps and some even surpassing 100 fps. With AMD FSR and the upcoming DLSS 3.0 competitor, 4K gaming performance is expected to improve further.

Cool and Quiet: Exceptional Thermal and Noise Management

Cool and Quiet Exceptional Thermal and Noise Management

The impressive gaming performance of the Origin PC 5000D AMD Advantage does come at the cost of heat and power consumption. However, the machine handles these challenges remarkably well. The AMD Ryzen 9 7950X CPU is cooled by a Corsair iCUE H150i Elite Capellix Liquid CPU Cooler, which effectively manages heat and noise levels. During testing, the CPU temperature peaked at 81 degrees Celsius and remained below 70 degrees for most games.

The Sapphire Radeon RX 7900 XTX GPU also performed admirably, with temperatures not exceeding 58 degrees Celsius while drawing 350 watts. A combination of the GPU's three-fan design, robust heatsink, and the case's six-fan intake system ensures that the 5000D AMD Advantage runs cool and quiet during intensive gaming sessions.

A Premium PC for the Discerning Gamer

The Origin PC 5000D AMD Advantage is undeniably a top-tier gaming system, offering exceptional performance, build quality and thermal management. However, given its high price point, it is best suited for gamers seeking premium 4K or high-refresh-rate 1440p experiences.

While it slightly underperforms in synthetic benchmarks compared to other PCs with similar hardware, this does not detract from the system's overall gaming prowess. With its excellent performance in gaming benchmarks, efficient cooling, and quiet operation, the 5000D AMD Advantage solidifies its position as a premium gaming PC well worth the investment for discerning gamers.
