Little Nightmares Developer’s Next Game Receives First Gruesome Teaser
2024-08-05
Tarsier Studios, known for its acclaimed Little Nightmares series, has shared a brief teaser for an upcoming horror game that hints at unsettling elements without going overboard on the macabre. While the title of this new project remains under wraps, the studio has announced that a global reveal will take place during the Gamescom Opening Night Live on August 20th.
The last significant preview was released in February 2021. It showcased a rapid sequence of eerie visuals, including a decrepit building, an isolated car on a dark road, and an ominous creature. This entity may indeed represent the “they” alluded to in the teaser, but further clarification is still needed.
This new game signifies a fresh intellectual property for Tarsier Studios, as they have transitioned away from developing further entries in the Little Nightmares franchise following their acquisition by the Embracer Group. Meanwhile, Supermassive Games is set to unveil Little Nightmares 3 in 2025, alongside their other horror title, The Casting of Frank Stone, scheduled for release on September 3rd.
Furthermore, Gamescom promises to showcase The Dark Pictures Anthology: Directive 8020, marking its debut in the next season of the ongoing horror series.
