Modders Show Love for Ramon Salazar by Bringing Back His Iconic Hat in Resident Evil 4 Remake
2023-04-02
Anyone who’s played the remake of the iconic Resident Evil 4 knows that there have been changes made to the game. But one modder went beyond the original version and decided to bring back Ramon Salazar’s iconic hat to the remake. Showing that the franchise is still able to influence the horror gaming industry, the titan of the survival horror genre is still alive and kicking.
User kira5z, who created this mod, explains it as a “novelty” that brings back Salazar’s tricorn hat. Hence, the villain is once again recognizable and is similar to his original look, though the remake is slightly darker than the original version. But some parts were chopped, which didn’t necessarily please the fans.
Nevertheless, there were things that even the original game needed to be added compared to what we can see in the remake now. For example, the giant monster Del Lago swims in the lake and tries to swallow Leon. But what’s even more amusing is that some veteran fans have been trolling the newcomers by persuading them to shoot at the lake and watch Del Lago jump from the water.
It’s not just the hat that was missing from the remake, but also the Margaret Thatcher-looking Salazar, with his old face and big hair. Thus, it’s really awesome to see the modder’s effort to make the game closer to the original version. After all, this is the very same modding community that has been tweaking the remake with various other changes and additions.
In conclusion, even though there were changes made to the remake of Resident Evil 4, they mostly worked out for the better. Thanks to modder kira5z, one of the most iconic RE characters have been brought back to life with his tricorn hat. This small but important change is a tribute to the franchise, which still stays on top of the horror gaming industry.
